\u2018Tis the season to be jolly! Christmas comes but once a year, and that time is almost upon us. And with that festive cheer brings the need to decorate your house, your garden, and of course, your decking. And that\u2019s exactly where we can help here at Savoy Timber. If you need a bit of inspiration, we\u2019ve got you sorted – here are some of our top tips!<\/p>\n

Fairy lights are your friend<\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve started with the easiest tip first. Fairy lights are easy to use and simple to apply to any surface. Best of all, they don\u2019t need any dedicated tools or specialist skill, so whatever your experience, you can probably put fairy lights on your decking<\/a><\/strong>. This gives the surface an instantly festive feel. Plus, if you buy battery operated versions, you won\u2019t even need to go through the hassle of figuring out where the nearest power supply is. Just switch them on and feel the glow.<\/p>\n

Embrace the traditional<\/h2>\n

People enjoy different styles when it comes to Christmas d\u00e9cor, but what has never gone out of fashion are the colourful, traditional decorations. Think Santa statues, LED light-up reindeers and seasonal snowmen. There\u2019s so much choice out there to turn your decking into a winter wonderland. All you need is the patience to shop around and a little bit of creativity to craft the scene. Feel free to let loose!<\/p>\n

Fake snow until the real stuff arrives<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re looking to go that one step further with your Christmas scenery, why not use some fake snow? While you may not have done this before, it is a sure-fire way of bringing some serious joy to your decking. You can get fake snow from plenty of online stores, and couple this with your already festive outdoor decorations (if you used our last piece of advice!) and you\u2019ll be the talk of the town. But don\u2019t take our word for it. Try it out for yourself, and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.<\/p>\n

Christmas trees and Christmas plants<\/h2>\n

Christmas trees aren\u2019t only for indoors. If you can, why not decorate your decking with a traditional Christmas tree, kitted out with lights and decorations to boot. You can get smaller Christmas trees for a decent price from any local store or stockist, and you don\u2019t need to decorate it with the priciest ornaments. A little bit of tinsel and a few odd baubles and you\u2019ve brought the Christmas tree to life.
\nAlternatively, you could decorate your existing plants with fairy lights or tinsel will see transform them into winter wonders.
