As lockdown restrictions finally begin to ease in many parts of the UK, and many people start returning to work, many of us are already reflecting on how we\u2019ve spent our time during lockdown, and the lessons we\u2019ve learned from it. It\u2019s now widely regarded as a time when everyone had a moment to slow down, and take stock of what\u2019s important in life. We also had a moment to re-evaluate our surroundings, and how we use our home – which naturally paved the way for a couple of widespread realisations about how we use our kitchens and laminate kitchen worktops<\/a>!<\/p>\n

The kitchen is an excellent place to spend some quality time<\/h2>\n

Typically, it\u2019s natural for most people to spend the majority of their time at home in living rooms or bedrooms, but it\u2019s easy to understand why so many people got restless during the lockdown, and started spending more time in areas of the house they perhaps normally wouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

For many people, the kitchen falls squarely into this category, and so plenty of homeowners started experimenting with using it for different things. For some, it was a home office. For others, it became a new personal leisure space. Others still simply used it as an area to spend more quality time with family, and plenty of people have stories about their baking escapades with children. For some, their kitchens have already returned to simply being a place for adults to prepare and consume food – but there are lots of people who have enjoyed exploring new roles for their kitchen, and may well continue using them for such in future.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all about space<\/h2>\n

When you spend lots more time in your kitchen, you might have become especially keenly aware of a number of things – one of which is probably the flow of movement around your kitchen. If you\u2019re working with a smaller space, it\u2019s particularly important, both for convenience and for safety – ideally, you don\u2019t want to be carrying food or cutlery through a narrow space if there are pets or children coming rapidly the other way! Equally when you\u2019re cooking, it helps to have everything you need within arm\u2019s reach if possible, so that you\u2019re not constantly having to dash back and forth across the kitchen.<\/p>\n

There are a couple of ways you can start thinking about rearranging your space. It might involve moving some kitchen furniture around, such as tables and chairs, or you might even want to swap the contents of certain cupboards. You may even want to think about getting a kitchen island installed, to better facilitate this flow. Really, the specifics are all up to you – it\u2019s about what works best for your space!<\/p>\n

New appreciation for the little things that make life easier<\/h3>\n

Your laminate kitchen worktops serve an essential purpose in your kitchen, but despite being relatively simple additions, there are lots of little ways they can affect your kitchen. It\u2019s easy to switch up the look of your kitchen<\/h3>\n

Refreshing the look of your kitchen might sound like a relatively mammoth task at first, but actually it\u2019s easier than most people think. You can give your kitchen a whole new appearance simply by replacing your doors and worktops, which have a huge effect on the overall look of your kitchen. With a carefully chosen laminate kitchen worktop, you can make it fresh and airy, or rich, dark and cosy. And once you\u2019ve chosen your worktops and doors, you can add a few little touches in the form of different coloured appliances, such as toasters or kettles – or add to the atmosphere with artwork or family photographs for the walls. It\u2019s all up to you!<\/p>\n
