Cleaning<\/span><\/h2>\n

Keeping your kitchen surfaces clean is essential for maintaining excellent hygiene. One of the biggest selling points of solid core laminate (arguably all laminate worktops<\/a><\/strong>) is that they\u2019re simple and easy to clean.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need: dish soap, a microfibre cloth, a dry cloth, a bucket or bowl, and warm water.<\/span><\/p>\n

To get the best results when cleaning your solid core laminate worktop<\/a><\/strong>, remember to clear the area and wipe off any dust with a lint-free cloth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve done that, create a cleaning solution of warm water with a small amount of dish soap in a bowl or bucket (no more than you\u2019d use for a sink of dishes). Then, using your microfibre cloth (so as not to damage the surface) dunk it in the bucket and wring out any excess water. Wipe your laminate worktop<\/a><\/strong> down in a circular motion starting from one of the corners.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simply repeat this until you\u2019ve wiped down the entire worktop. Once the entire surface has been cleaned you can follow that with a dry cloth, which will help get rid of any residual water and soap residue. Sorted!<\/span><\/p>\n

Maintenance<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since solid core laminate doesn\u2019t require much in the way of maintenance, you can focus on preventative steps to increase the longevity of your worktop. Here are three preventative practices we recommend to help you ensure your solid core worktop stays looking as pristine as the day it was installed!<\/span><\/p>\n

Firstly, it\u2019s not a bad idea to consider using counter protectors (silicone or cloth) for hot pans and trays to prevent scratching and damage to your worktop. If you don\u2019t have counter protectors you can simply keep hot pans on the stove until they\u2019ve cooled off.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, using a chopping board or mat is great for protecting your surfaces from knife abrasions or cuts. Micro-abrasions in the surface of your worktop can lead to bacteria and dirt accumulating in them (in addition to making them more difficult to clean).<\/span><\/p>\n

Thirdly, it\u2019s worth using soft microfibre cloths to clean your worktops instead of scrubbing pads. The latter can create micro-scratches in your worktop, which can make it more difficult to clean in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n
