If you want your kitchen to impress – or you just want to give it a new look for yourself – then you might find that a full kitchen renovation to be time-consuming, expensive, and on the whole not necessarily practical. Thankfully, there are a couple of quick, cheap and easy ways that you can give your kitchen a brand new, premium appearance!<\/p>\n

Tidy your kitchen with a tidy mind<\/h2>\n

It sounds like an obvious point to start off with, but you might be surprised at how many people overlook it! Along with your worktops, your kitchen cabinetry is one of the most influential elements of your kitchen, having a significant effect on its overall style. Repainting them in a new colour can completely change the mood of the space. Alternatively, you might just want to switch things up by replacing your cabinetry doors and handles with traditional ornate versions, or minimal contemporary-style ones.<\/p>\n

Think about brighter or lighter colours<\/h3>\n

Speaking of repainting, whether you\u2019re considering a new look for your cabinetry, or a fresh lick of paint for the walls, it\u2019s always worth looking at lighter colours first. You can pick up some pendant lights or smart lampshades for bargain prices if you hunt around a little, and they can really help to make your kitchen look particularly distinctive. Having fixtures that are too ugly, boring or outdated can bring your entire kitchen down, which can be disheartening if you\u2019ve spent time tidying or repainting it. You can go for smart traditional models, or slimline contemporary affairs – whatever you think works best!<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s not to forget the quality of the light itself. Warmer light can make all the difference to your kitchen style, making a large and sparse area feel more intimate and comfortable. On the other hand, if you\u2019ve got a smaller kitchen you might want to try lighting that\u2019s a bit brighter and cooler, which can help the space feel larger.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be afraid to use some personal touches<\/h3>\n

Anything old, or worn, or cracked, should be hidden away or disposed of before you have any viewings. Instead, investing just a little in some brand-new crockery or kitchenware can help keep your kitchen looking pristine, and even enhance its style – for example, by using a brightly coloured pot or bowl to add dashes of colour to an otherwise neutral space. Or, you might want to express yourself through artwork – black and white pieces can look especially effective and moody in a monochrome colour scheme, or you can pick something more whimsical and vibrant to give your kitchen some extra personality.
