They’re living organisms, and like all of us, they get quite peckish on a regular basis. Only in this case, what they’re feeding on is the wood of your decking boards. As they do this, they multiply, and then it’s not long before you start to see a green, brown or black stain creeping across your decking. Left unchecked, it looks horrible; definitely not at the top of anyone’s Christmas list.

It Can Irreversibly Damage Your Decking Boards

As we touched on above, mould spores aren’t just resting on the wood – they’re eating it. What’s more, if you don’t take pretty swift action, sometimes surrounding insects will get in on the action, and soon you may have an army of critters merrily gnawing away at the wood. And as we all know, wood doesn’t grow on tr… OK, well it certainly doesn’t grow back on decking, anyway, no matter how much you clean it afterwards.

Mould And Moss Makes Your Decking Dangerous

One of the main characteristics of mould and moss is that it be very easy to slip on it, transforming your decking from a lovely place to relax in the summer to a lovely place to sprain your wrist in the winter.
